When I have the time to go to a Friday night football game early, I always take it. Sometimes the stadium gates are closed until one hour prior to kickoff, which makes for some fast seeing when the sun sets earlier this time of the year. And it is always appreciated when a coach allows me locker room access. I'm just a sucker for sports features because they show the broader theme of the game. Most photographers can stand on the sideline and pivot with their monopod to shoot game action, but it takes thinking to find slices of the game that are often overlooked. I am really trying to step up that area of my game.
